Darren has been playing bass for over 25 years starting his professional career on the UK theatre & festival circuits touring with various British Country music acts.
His love of Motown and 60’s soul music led to him being invited to join British soul singer Cliff Bennett and his band The Rebel Rousers on UK and European tours.
Darren played bass in The Chas Hodges Rock n Roll Trio with renowned pianist Chas Hodges and his drummer Micky Burt (Chas n Dave and both ex Cliff Bennett musicians).
He also spent 2 years touring as bass player and band leader with Irish singer Rose-Marie.
Darren continued his work with Chas Hodges joining Chas & His Band in 2006 with a busy touring schedule of theatres, clubs and festivals around the world. He was Chas’s regular bass player, outside of Chas n Dave for 12 years until sadly Chas passed away in 2018.
Throughout his career Darren has also recorded, played with and depped, often at short notice for many artists and bands playing all genres of music in every type of venue from pubs, clubs and theatres to arenas and festivals around the world.
In 2018 Darren joined the travelling theatre show ‘Hello Again, a Tribute to Neil Diamond’ touring theatres around the UK and Europe.
In late 2022 Darren recorded electric and double bass on the debut album of upcoming, and supremely talented singer/songwriter Georgia Crandon. The album was recorded at the iconic Konk Studios in London.
